Mahatma Gandhi Convent Higher Secondary School,(hereafter M.G.Convent School)Shajapur is a private unaided school under the general management of the Catholic Diocese of Ujjain, registered under the M.P. Society Registration Act 1973 (No.44 of 1973, Reg. No 3483). In particular it is run by St.Joseph’sCatholic Church at Shajapur. The management enjoys minority rights as enshrined in the Constitution of India: Art 30.

The School is affiliated to Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi and its affiliation number is MP 032/2008.

M.G.Convent School had its simple origin with its Kindergarten classes in the year 1969 in the Catholic Church campus, at Shajapur. The earnest desire of the parents and students of the town and surrounding villages was the motivating force to develop it into a co-educational higher secondary school. The School was provisionally affiliated to CISCE in 2008, and it received permanent affiliation to CISCE on 2011.
